Grounds& Hounds Coffee Co.’s Jordan Karcher Is Helping Dogs, 1 Cup Of Coffee At A Time
If you ask any pet owner, one of the worst parts of the day is that moment in the morning when you have to say goodbye to your furry BFF when you head off to work. Of track, many offices are dog-friendly these days, but what if you could say that your pup is actually the reason you have your job? That’s precisely the example for Jordan Karcher, founder of Dirt& Hounds Coffee Co ., who was inspired to start his chocolate corporation not long after he borrowed his puppy Molly in 2012.
Karcher is the CEO of Soil& Hounds Coffee Co ., an online chocolate corporation that gifts 20 percent of all its earnings to help fund rescue programs in animal awnings across the United Mood. Soon, his time volunteering went him “ve been thinking about” animal relief from a “business perspective.” In the non-profit world, Karcher justifies, “you’re always fundraising; you’re always trying to find someone to donate money or how to raise more money.” He started thinking of it differently. “I looked at it and I said, ‘Well, if we could create a product or a conception that has a large enough customer base and high enough retention, then maybe we could find a way to create perpetual income or endless funding to these organizations.'”
And, yes, chocolate was his first instinct. Coming from a family with a wine-colored and feelings background and having a bachelor’s degree in international business, Karcher began selling chocolate from the Grounds& Hounds website in 2014. He told me that he reckoned at the time, “Hey, what better highway to break the ice for premium coffee than a pup and being able to do some good? ” Karcher apprehended success earlier today. “Even if you didn’t like our coffee, ” he says, “at least you’d be able to feel good about facilitating a pup along the way. That was really why I reviewed chocolate had a lot of upside.”

Today, Karcher’s responsibilities have evolved from just trying to get his business off the floor.
